Duma allows Rosneft to export LNG from Arctic
MOSCOW, Oct 18 (PRIME) -- The State Duma, Russian parliament’s lower chamber, on Wednesday approved in a final reading a bill that allows oil major Rosneft to export liquefied natural gas (LNG) from its fields in the Arctic regions of the country.
The bill allows companies that are more than 50% owned by the government to export LNG from the Arctic fields in the Krasnoyarsk Region, the Nenets Autonomous District and the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous District. Deputy Energy Minister Anastasia Bondarenko said in April that the bill covers around 36 fields of Rosneft.
The bill also excludes bunkering of ships with LNG from the law on gas exports to stimulate the use of LNG as bunker fuel.
